On the 11th day of Christmas
Dingle Gin. Locally grown botanicals giving that “Taste of Kerry” feel. Simply served with a wedge of lime.
On the 10th Day of Christmas my true love gave to md
Beefeater Gin. It’s easy to overlook Beefeater gin, as it’s widely popular. But it’s a great gin and those that haven’t tried it yet is missing out. On the nose it’s spicy and fruity, and on the palate it’s dry with herbal and citrus notes
On the 9th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Bombay Sapphire. One of the worlds most recognized spirits with its iconic blue bottle. It is light crisp and smooth. A very easy drinking gin.
On the 8th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me
By the Dutch Gin. A new gin make this year. Great flavors of bay leaf, but meg and blood orange.
On the 7th day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Monkey 47. The number 47 comes from the 47 botanicals used and the 47% ABV. I always get different tasting notes from this gin. Berry fruits, citrus floral and herbal. Served best with a wedge of lime.
On the 6th day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Breil Pur Gin is next. It’s an organic Swiss Gin. Rose and chocolate mint are the back bone of this gin. I tried this is House in Limerick. It’s one of my favorites.
On the 5th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Opihr Gin. This gin was designed with an exotic ancient spice route in mind. This gin has a heady spice mix with cardamom rising about the rest. Despite the spicy explosion there is a sweetness from the orange. Iv had it served different ways. Most common is with a slice of grapefruit. However I like it with a sliced red chili and some cardamom pods.
On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me …..
Elephant Gin. Distilled in Germany but with some fascinating African ingredients.
It’s different and unexpected. On the nose it’s dry earthy and sweet. On the palate Dry and a long finish. This would go very well in cocktails.
And no it’s not made from Elephants, just like baby oil is not made from babies. Lol
